Since TRAPPIST-1 is about 8 billion years old, any atmosphere in the system is long gone. Thus the system is a collection of bare rocky worlds. Since 75% of the stars in the Milky Way are red dwarfs, the likelihood of extraterrestrial life is much lower than previously thought.
